Thousand Yard Stare announce the release of a new single, Schism Algorithm, on 14th February 2020 via Stifled Aardvark Records.
Recorded at Raffer studios with Callum Rafferty, the track is the second to be lifted from their forthcoming album The Panglossian Momentum, scheduled for release on 29th May 2020, their first studio long player since Mappamundi in 1993.

Where previous release It Sparks! called to relight internal fires, Schism Algorithm stares deep into the smouldering embers. Giles Duffy’s capricious guitar stabs ooze and soar through a bed of grumble-groove rhythm, as vocalist Stephen Barnes assumes the position of an intrusive algorithm, designed to influence our thinking.

Barnes explains “The increasing reliance on the digital sphere to shape our beliefs and behaviours has invited opportunity for those with the power to harness it. Politicians, corporations and religions have always been master-peddlers of untruths. The infiltration of digital media in our lives allows those with the means and motives, to create de-facto truths from fabrication with increasing impunity and anonymity. This song is about putting this ‘ghost in the machine’ in the confession box”.
